Dear Valued JA Customer,
These are challenging times to say the least and I would like you to know that we are right there with you. If you can think of anything we can do to serve you better and give you more value for your transportation dollar, please do not hesitate to let us know. In the meantime, we will be looking as well.
One of the areas that we think we can be of help is an alternative to utilizing your own private fleet. If you operate your own truck(s), we believe we can offer you a better option to the administration and expense of maintaining and running your own fleet. If you are concerned as to how much having your own truck(s) and/or driver(s) are really costing you, please give us a call. We can do a thorough analysis and offer you a competitive alternative. We would be happy to do so.
We have to work together to come out on the other side stronger than ever. We at JA appreciate your business and will continue to work hard to earn it on every shipment now and in the future.
Sincerely,
Joseph M. Alger
President

JA Frate, Inc Joins U.S. EPA SmartWay Transport Partnership!
February 13, 2009 Press Release:
“JA Frate announced that it joined the SmartWaySM Transport Partnership, an innovative collaboration between U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the freight industry designed to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution.
JA Frate will contribute to the Partnership’s goal to reduce 33 to 66 million metric tons of carbon dioxide and up to 200,000 tons of nitrogen oxide per year by 2012 by improving the environmental performance of our freight operations. Carbon dioxide is the most common greenhouse gas, and nitrogen oxide is an air pollutant that contributes to smog. By joining SmartWay Transport Partnership, JA Frate demonstrates its strong environmental leadership and corporate responsibility.
“In order to be ‘The Most Dependable Transportation Service in the World’ we have to do our part right here at home; being a part of SmartWay provides measurements and goals that will help us know that we are part of improving the air quality in our community, not adding to the problem” said Joe Alger, President.
Launched in February 2004, the SmartWay Transport Partnership aims to achieve fuel savings of up to 150 million barrels of fuel per year. The Partnership brings together major freight shippers, trucking companies, railroads, logistics companies and trade/professional associations to pursue mutually beneficial efficiencies that result in emissions reductions and other environmental improvements, as well as cost savings to the companies. The Partnership currently has approximately 1,400 partners.
For 37 years JA Frate has provided quality freight services throughout the Chicago metropolitan area; specializing in same day and next day local service. Nationwide freight services as well as Intermodal container services and warehousing also available. For more information about JA Frate, visit www.jafrate.com or call 815-459-0839.

Meet Scott Bowden of the JA Sales Team
Hello, my name is Scott Bowden; I am 27 years old and have been with JA Frate for a year and a half. At JA, I mainly manage the Mc Henry County territory. My customers generally see me in a professional aspect whenever I have appointments with them. Here is some information on me that you may not know…
I was recently engaged to my fiancé, Shaina. We plan on getting married in the Spring of 2010. I grew up in Lake in the Hills. My fiancé and I still live there and own a town home near the Huntley border. My summers are spent playing semi-pro football for the Mc Henry County Pirates and I love every minute that I am on the field. I only play for the fun of it; you won’t see me playing for the Chicago Bears anytime soon. I am a huge fan of the outdoors and fish as often as I can. Motorcycle season is coming and I can’t wait! Everyone keeps telling me to buy a cruiser, but I am having a tough time getting rid of my Honda RC51.
I truly enjoy working with people and representing this great company. Thank you for using JA Frate!
Meet Lann Tarrant of the JA Sales Team
Hi, I’m Lann Tarrant. I joined the Frate Group Team as the Account Manager for the Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin areas in December 2008.
I grew up in the trucking industry. My Mother was a vice president of dispatch for one of the largest over-the-road carriers in the west. Some of my fondest memories as a kid were going with my Mom to work and riding in the 18 wheelers.
I grew up in central Illinois in a small town called DePue. I attended Aurora University as a student athlete. I met my wife while attending Northern Illinois University. We married in June 2008. Just recently, we purchased our first home.
I am excited to take full advantage of the resources JA Frate, JA Logistics and JA Nationwide can offer to help form true partnerships with my customers.
JA Cares…
JA joined the Adopt a Highway Maintenance Corporation a few years back. April marks the start for our annual Highway Clean Up. Everyone knows what it is like to drive down a stretch of road and see garbage everywhere you look…it’s not pretty. So, in an effort to keep our community clean and help the environment, JA employees gather a few times a year to clean up a section of Rakow Road in Lake in the Hills.
Adopt A Highway was started in 1990 and they have been keeping America’s highways clean ever since! Some of the biggest national sponsors include Disneyland, Outback Steakhouse, Sony Corporation, Verizon and the United States Postal Service.
If you are interested in joining the Adopt A Highway cause, please visit their website at www.adoptahighway.com!
